The caterpillar said to the sun, “They can’t stop talking about my transformation. I can only do it once in my lifetime. If only they knew, they can do it at any time and in countless ways.”

Hello my name is Terri Caywood, I am the Administrator of Terri's Treehouse. I have been in this Program for over 20 years, and took over this program 5 years ago, after being the Director for several years. I am a Registry Level 11 and a Trainer of Early ED. Cont. Education.
I get to know every face real well once they walk through my doors and have strong ties with this community. My passion is evident, I very much enjoy the time I get to spend with these children, teachers and families. There's an amazing feeling that overcomes me when a parent comes back to visit and recall, smiling, when I was their teacher a generation ago. I know how important it is to have quality early education and care for the Northwoods and will never forget that this is our Mission. Our Programs supports the resiliency of our future and we will continue to set the bar of expectations which can only be gained through growth with Reputable values that reflects our Philosophy which is aligned with the Nationally Accredited Standards, NAEYC.

She holds an Early Childhood Technical Diploma, an Administrator’s Credential, and certifications in Working with Children and Nature and Forest & Nature Therapy through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT). Her academic path includes studies at Nicolet Area Technical College, UW-Madison, UW-Platteville, NWTC, and the University of Pacifica, complemented by over 1000 hours of additional training in psychology, survival, health, safety, nutrition, and ecology.

Her goal is to raise awareness and advocate for the protection of the Northwoods’ natural resources.
Emilymae’s philosophy is rooted in the belief that “it takes a village” to raise a resourceful family and a thriving community. As the President of Elemental Roots E.D.U., she is committed to building intergenerational connections, promoting outdoor education, and supporting others in their journey of growth and learning. Her work is a testament to the power of relationships, nature, and community in shaping a sustainable and joyful future.

Miss Jani was born and raised in the desert of El Paso, Texas. She has lived in the Northwoods for 16 years now. She has five children of her own ranging from fifteen to thirty years old. Four of her five children are adopted through domestic adoption, international adoption, and the foster care system. Fun Fact: Miss Katlynn is Jani’s oldest daughter.

We are so thrilled to have her join our team here at Terri’s Treehouse. Starting this journey in such an amazing time, we love her energy passion and unique talents connecting with the students already. Miss Jaden was born and raised in Minocqua and attended MHLT, and LUHS graduating in 2021. She attended Nicolet for classes and NWTC for Early healthcare. She enjoys playing soccer, being in the water, hiking, coloring, journaling etc.
She is the youngest of five with four brothers, she says her childhood was a blast with all the big boys around. Her favorite treat is milk chocolate and her Birthday is August 22nd her favorite color is blue. This past year she was caring for an elderly couple with dementia and enjoyed doing end-of-life care. Throughout her time she discovered, that she enjoyed this work and gained patience, understanding, and a lot about the toll of dementia that can take on with a family dealing with these struggles. After losing one of the patients I knew I wanted to find another position that fulfilled me in the way that caregiving did. I have always enjoyed taking care of others and making a difference in someone else life. I am excited to do this here, and this first Summer has been one of the best!
My name is Camille Kich. I’ve had the privilege to grow up in northern Wisconsin, surrounded by beautiful lakes, rivers, trees, animals, and all kinds of nature. Living and learning from the land is how I grew up. Since my youth, I’ve left the Northwoods, and the country, traveling throughout South America, teaching English in Spain, learning yoga in India, and eventually finding my way back here. I’ve realized that a lot of people in the world didn’t grow up how I did. People didn’t have the same connection to the earth that I did and it made me sad to know they didn’t find simple joy in gazing at a lake, or going for a walk outside. I wanted to see how I could help respark a natural connection. So, in Spain, I volunteered for an organization called Forest School, a program to bring children into the forest and let them play and learn with it. I didn’t know how much of a passion for connecting children with nature would grow in me until I realized that connecting children with nature was just another way of connecting them to themselves. I’ve seen kids gain confidence in who they are, become expressive, loving, creative, and truly shine like the lights they are. I’ve seen the changes in kids and that’s all I want to do; be a part of bringing nature back to human nature. This Program is doing exactly that and I am very grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it. Miss Camille volunteers for enrichment events here.
Miss Lizzie is just a ball of beautiful sunshine! We are so excited to have her back for another Summer here as she continues her education in Dietetics and Nutrition Science. Miss Lizzie graduated from LUHS and became Entry Level Certified in Early Education shortly afterwards. She is super passionate about the early years and the experiences that shape our pursuits and wellbeing's later in life. She loves Dance and is an Instructor at Minocqua Dance. She loves journaling and singing as well! Miss Lizzie is in school full time and we hope to see her back each Summer and breaks.
Miss Caillie is new to the Minocqua area but not to the Northwoods. Raised in a National Park Service family, she has lived in nearly every region in the United States and developed a love for the outdoors at an early age. She is passionate about books and reading and is always looking for suggestions to add to her ever-growing library. She will be completing her Elementary Education and Early Childhood Development degree at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls this fall and is excited to continue learning at Terri’s Treehouse this summer.
Well another veteran from The Treehouse, she began here when she was 2 ½ when her Mom began here, Emilymae, This was the first sanctuary they both found and flourished in! Her first teacher was Miss Tammy eventually Miss Bailey was her teacher as well but Miss Terri and her really bonded too and as she grew in confidence she walked strongly into a path of her own. Miss Leah loved to volunteer in her early teens here and also became babysitter certified and CPR 1st Aid Certified the youngest to do that here and enjoyed her many siblings (5) . She also became a facilitator at LUHS as a Level 2 and worked directly with troubled youth. When she also found her niche teaching Yoga with her mom to youth which was always a full house. She had a way of connecting with children at a young age. Leah worked also at Camp Agawak at lead Facilitator and enjoys climbing, belaying guiding, and adventuring in many places, wherever she can find a boulder. Her favorite place to climb would have to be Colorado or Tadagouche where she found her calling, she is going to school for becoming a Birth Doula. She loves to travel and has a big list of places she wants to experience. She has found a great group of mentors here while she cultivates her dreams! She loves Preschoolers and Toddlers and really enjoys the outdoor discoveries. In her spare time, she loves to sketch paint listen to a variety of music or scroll beauty tutorials. Miss Leah volunteers here at the Programs. She enjoys dressing up and getting coffee or dinner out. Her favorite past time to do with her family is bake and has become a proficient baker in all things non-gluten (which is a task) She loves fresh cut flowers and has a candle always burning and a heart always open. We are happy the full circle of her stopping by from time to time while in between traveling.
